Our client is a well-respected and long-established global financial institution with a significant presence in Guernsey. On their behalf we are looking to fill an upcoming new position as head of risk management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running a new risk team to form the first line of defence function. While focus will be on Guernsey there will a strong emphasis on liaising with global colleagues to align and exchange forming a global effective function across the group.
Applicants will need to show demonstrable experience in leading and mentoring teams in the execution of their objectives in establishing and maintaining effective risk controls. Be able to drive a positive culture and good outcomes for all stake-holders.
This is senior leadership position requiring someone who is comfortable in owning the establishment of an effective risk function and having a team in place to effectively manage and evolve this along with group objectives.
Candidates should have extensive experience in compliance, risk management and audit and hold a recognized professional qualification. A knowledge of international private banking practices will be beneficial. As this is a Guernsey based role, good knowledge of the local regulatory requirements will be essential.
